Scanned USGS & TxDOT road maps

The following files contain scanned maps of areas having scenic roadways within the Texas Hill Country and the West Texas region. The files have been given the titles of towns located near or on scenic routes. The idea behind scanning these regions was to provide suggested loops originating from the towns listed in the files below. Most routes (ie. loops) displayed are between 27 and 100 miles in length. Also provided are overview maps of the Texas Hill Country and the West Texas Region.

For each region both a USGS (United States Geologic Survey) map and a TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) map have been provided. The USGS maps have topographic information while the TxDOT maps provide precise roadway data. These maps are within large files! Download time will be primarily a function of client modem speed.

Special Notes: the maps below are best viewed on monitors having resolutions of 1024x768 or higher; reduction of the menu frame will permit a larger area in which to view maps. Printing of the images (i.e. maps) is also permissible and encouraged; adjustment to the browser's printing scale will maximize printable area.
